The autumn leaves are beginning to fall and the green of the trees is rediscovered in the winter wardrobe like a glistening reminder of nature. That is, unless you choose kaki and play the urban Amazon woman. Featuring interviews with Olivier Rouseing, Jean-Paul Gaultier, and Humberto Leon. As the last of the autumn leaves fall away, one particular colour lights up our winter wardrobe: green, in all its glory. With collections abundant in mossy, verdant shades, check out how to incorporate green into your look. Demure and sophisticated, khaki is the ultimate colour for knitwear or practical sportswear pieces, either as an all-over colour block or teamed with bolder patterns.

This winter, stand to attention in the guise of chic soldier-boys in green high-waisted leather regimentals or opt for a more urban style in feminine skirts and tops sparkling with iridescent camouflage prints that will make you stand out.

Green blends into its surroundings at Jean Paul Gaultier, taking on a more futuristic look… …Or even livening up your winter coat, with a fur-lined shamrock parkers or long military topcoats in delicate forest hues, devised in soft, luxurious materials. A knight in shining armour, green is the perfect shade for fairytale GOWNS or cute mini-dresses, combining earthy colours, sequins and transparency for an extreme femininity that takes you back to your fashion roots.

Interview:

Olivier Rousteing :

There is this military style, this idea of fighting through the jungle to survive which is like today’s world, it is real life, this need to fight to survive but at the same time, there is a message of hope. The collection talks about ethnicity, mixes and the colours of the clothes as well as of the models.

Jean-Paul Gaultier :

The main room is entirely in green, the same colour as the collection; we are in the midst of a ‘space’ collection so there is a sort of institutional, uniform side, because the lights, the colours and everything else corresponds directly to the collection.

Humberto Leon:

I think this season, we took a different, more beautiful approach and you see these beautiful greens and we wanted to show this more romantic side of Opening Ceremony
